Gwalior Shock: Retired CMHO’s Wife Found Dead Inside Home After 5 Days of Silence

Gwalior News. A woman, wife of a retired Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), was found dead in a naked condition inside her house in Gwalior. The body is believed to be around five days old. After neighbours grew suspicious due to no movement around the house, they informed the police late Monday night.

The deceased, 61-year-old Anita Sharma, lived alone in a house located in City Centre, Site No. 1, opposite Akashdeep Apartment. Her husband, who earlier served as CMHO in Gwalior, had already passed away. She is survived by two children—her son Aneesh, who lives in Pune, and her daughter Nidhi, who works in Bengaluru.

Neighbours Noticed Silence, Informed Her Brother

According to neighbours, Anita had not stepped out of her house for the past four to five days. Even the housemaid, after calling out several times from outside, would return as there was no response. Seeing no activity around the house, neighbours informed Anita’s brother who lives in Gwalior. He, along with relatives from the in-laws’ side, reached the spot. When no one answered the door, they alerted the police.

Police Entered the House and Found the Decomposed Body

When the police managed to enter the house, a strong foul smell was spreading inside. On the first floor, near the bathroom, Anita’s naked body was found. Clothes were kept in a bucket nearby, suggesting she may have just taken a bath. Blood was found coming from her nose and mouth. Preliminary assumptions indicate that she might have slipped or suffered a sudden medical emergency after bathing. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Entering the house was difficult for the police as the doors were locked from inside. They attempted to break them but failed. Later, a cutter machine was brought to cut the internal locks. Even rooms inside the house had to be cut open before the police could reach the body.
